Does Opening a Company in Azerbaijan Give You Residency?
Not automatically. Company formation and residence are separate processes, and the relevant founder or company-head residence route has specific capital and other legal conditions.
The current founder/company-head rule
For the temporary-residence route covering the head of a foreign-invested legal entity or a founder who owns at least 51% of it, the current published paid-up charter-capital requirement is 50,000 AZN.
Additional requirements can apply depending on how long the person has held residence and the specific legal basis being used.
Why this matters
A company can be commercially useful even when it is not the correct immigration route. Caspentra therefore treats company setup and residence as connected but separate pieces of work.
What to check before relying on the company route
- Your ownership percentage or management role
- Paid-up charter capital
- Turnover requirements that may apply later
- Your current legal stay in Azerbaijan
- Whether another residence ground fits your situation better
